TERMS OF ENGAGEMENT & COMMISSION SPECIFICATIONS

Terms of Service

Home / Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern all architectural plaster commissions, consultations, custom sample formulations, and on-site applications performed by Vegas Venetian Plaster LLC. By engaging our services, clients, general contractors, and designers agree to these terms.

1. Scope of Artisanal Work

Vegas Venetian Plaster specializes in authentic architectural surface finishes including Venetian Plaster, Limewash, Tadelakt & Microcement, Decorative Plaster Finishes, and Level 5 Drywall Repair. All work is executed by master plaster artisans using traditional troweling and burnishing techniques.

2. Substrate Requirements & Site Conditions

Authentic slaked lime plasters and microcement require sound, stable substrates. To achieve a flawless finish:

  • Drywall must be taped, mudded, and sanded to a minimum of Level 4 or Level 5 finish without structural movement, pops, or ridges.
  • Site environmental controls must maintain an ambient temperature between 55°F and 85°F with operational HVAC throughout application and curing. In the Southern Nevada desert climate, premature drying due to unconditioned air can impair the natural lime carbonation cycle.
  • Plumbing fixtures, lighting cans, baseboards, and electrical trim must be coordinated with our project lead prior to final burnishing.

3. Custom Sample Boards & Mineral Variation

Authentic Italian Venetian plaster is composed of slaked lime (*Grassello di Calce*) and natural Carrara marble aggregates. Because these are natural minerals tinted with inorganic earth pigments and applied by hand:

  • Bespoke physical sample boards are created for client sign-off before full-scale application commences.
  • Subtle tonal variations, organic mottling, movement, and light-reflective nuances are inherent characteristics of authentic artisanal plaster and distinguish it from synthetic commercial paint.

4. Estimates, Contracts & Payment Schedule

Standard architectural contracts require:

  • A 50% deposit upon contract signing to secure studio scheduling and import specialized Italian materials.
  • Milestone draws outlined for large-scale multi-room commissions.
  • Final balance due upon satisfactory project completion and walkthrough sign-off.

5. Curing Period & Post-Care Guidelines

Traditional slaked lime plasters cure through carbonation, absorbing carbon dioxide from the air over 28 days to return to pure limestone:

  • Avoid abrasive scrubbing, adhesive tape, or chemical cleaners during the 28-day curing cycle.
  • Clean only with soft microfiber cloths and warm water or pH-neutral Marseille olive oil soap.
  • Wet areas (Tadelakt and microcement showers) are sealed with specialized hydrophobic natural waxes and require periodic resealing as specified in our care guide.

6. Governing Law (Nevada)

All agreements are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada and regulations of the Nevada State Contractors Board (NRS Chapter 624).
